Introducing Abby

Today was one of those days that didn't end up the way you thought it would. We went out to lunch with plans to finish up the last minute Christmas shopping afterwards. Princess E asked if we could go by the local PetSmart to look at the fish. We agreed as this is not an uncommon stop when we are out with her. We walked in the front door and that's when the day's plans shifted.

There sat Abby.

A little background information needs to be inserted here. When Ed and I met he had a boxer named Aggie. She was the sweetest dog I'd ever met. I had never owned a big dog and was a bit intimidated at first, but completely fell in love with her. A little over a year later we found out she had cancer and we had to put her to sleep. Ed and the boys were devastated.

We have talked about getting another boxer many times since then, but Ed always said no. He didn't want to deal with the energy that boxer puppies exude. He didn't want to housebreak a big dog. He didn't want to deal with puppy chewing. Ed LOVES boxers, but just wasn't up to all that a new puppy would involve.

So back to today...

There sat Abby. She was a match made in heaven for Ed. She's 3 years old, spayed, housebroken and CALM. Her owner's had a new baby that was allergic to her and had to put her up for adoption. We fell in love instantly and before you know it she was on her way home with us.
